U.S. Unemployment Surpasses 8%, 1983 High

U.S. unemployment rate jumps to 8.1 percent in February, the worst since December 1983, according to the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics.
651,000 more jobs were slashed in February, mostly in consumer-related enterprises, reported CNN.
