What can you do to stimulate the economy? Tell people when you hear about a job. Tell your brother-in-law, tell your current and former colleagues, tell your network, tell everyone, said G.L. Hoffman , CEO of Job Dig, a career-advice Web site.
He advocates job seekers (and non-job seekers) use Twitter, Facebook and any means possible to broadcast available jobs.
In effect, you are taking them by the hand, and showing you care by giving them some ideas of jobs that are now open. Your followers will LOVE you for the goodwill you are showing. The more times you do it … the more likely it is that someone will find a job … BECAUSE of you. How cool can you be?
If you’re at work and paying attention, you usually know about jobs at your employer before they even hit the job boards. Sometimes you know before the job is even open. If you’re unemployed and searching for a job, you encounter hundreds daily. What do you do with the jobs that don’t fit your bill? The jobs below your pay grade? The jobs above your head? Spread the word. Your social networks and circles of friends are likely filled with like-minded individuals in your line of work, and some of them might fit the bill for a job you passed by.
